Service Dispatcher

Summary

The Service Dispatcher schedules and monitors the activities of the Service Technicians and Installers to ensure customer’s service needs are met promptly and satisfactorily; is first point of contact with customers and employees; coordinates work status for service agreements, time and material and service projects; and processes reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Takes incoming customer calls.
  • Schedules and coordinates all service calls; dispatches Service Technicians; manages contingency plans.
  • Coordinates time off scheduling.
  • Debriefs Service Technicians and Installers after completion of calls.
  • Forecasts service workload.
  • Contacts customers with “parts pending” status to schedule service call.
  • Follows up on pending and recommended work.
  • Maintains maintenance agreements, including billing, scheduling and staging of materials, database information and customer hard files.
  • Orders parts for special orders.
  • Forwards list of parts used for truck restock.
  • Updates customer information.
  • Obtains and verifies payment methods.
  • Prepares service contract proposals and parts and labor quotes.
  • Prepares paperwork for warranty parts and processes returns.
  • Maintains service invoice log.
  • Serves as customer point of contact.
  • Other duties as assigned

Non-Essential Job Duties

  • Conducts customer surveys.
  • Assists HVAC department with shop or duties or deliveries

Essential Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year experience in an Driving/expediting position
  • General knowledge of construction industry
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff and suppliers
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license with clean DMV record and ability to travel the Bay Area
  • Flexibility with work schedule. Occasionally required to start early and/or stay late.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some experience/knowledge of HVAC systems

There is frequent sitting at stationary position and work station. Manual dexterity required for computer and programming work. There is occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. Work performed in an office environment with moderate noise level. Reasonable accommodations will be made available.

Assistant Project Manager

Summary

The Assistant Project Manager, under the direction of the Project Manager, plans, coordinates, executes and maintains effective construction organization utilizing the necessary engineering, labor, equipment, materials, tools, subcontracted services and other Company resources to perform the scope of the contracted work on high rise residential, commercial and industrial plumbing/piping/HVAC projects within budget and time schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Project Manager, assists with:

  • The development and tracking of the project schedule
  • Establishing project cost control centers for tracking equipment, material, labor, subcontracts and miscellaneous costs
  • The direction of trade planners in the development of shop drawings and coordination of the planning efforts with other trades
  • The development of piping, plumbing and/or HVAC construction standards
  • The resolution of issues/problems
  • The reporting of project status to stakeholders
  • The estimation and processing of changes in the scope of work
  • The management of construction documentation
  • The inspection of the job site on a periodic basis
  • Follow up on warranty work

Other duties as assigned.

Non-Essential Job Duties

  • Assists in sales calls.
  • Attends pre-bid meetings.

Essential Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or equivalent with 2-4 years of experience working in the mechanical construction industry or BS in Engineering/Construction Management.
  • Knowledge of commercial and industrial plumbing or piping systems.
  • Knowledge of commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
  • Ability to interpret computerized data.
  • Computer literacy in Outlook, Excel and Word and Blue Beam.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Bay Area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Project and Primavera.
  • Knowledge of design, building and mechanical/plumbing code.

Asst. CAD Detailer (Pipe and Plumbing)

Summary

The Assistant Plumbing & Piping Detailer assists in production of working drawings for coordination and fabrication that will be used in the field for installation and presented to the contractor as final as-built drawings for sign-off.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Project Manager, assists with:

  • Produces fully coordinated shop drawings that are accurate, dimensioned, and clearly understood by field personnel and shop foreman
  • Produces spooled drawings for pre-fabrication process as directed
  • Plots shop drawings that meet the standard of the department
  • Follows all CAD standards set forth by Department Manager
  • Provides necessary documents to Project Managers and Estimators relating to contract changes, equipment buyouts and change orders as requested
  • Assists Project Managers with fixtures and equipment as required for contracts, as requested
  • Attends department progress meetings and kickoff meetings as needed
  • Attends coordination meetings with general contractor in a professional manner representing Peterson’s code of excellence as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Five or more years’ experience designing plumbing and piping systems
  • Clear understanding and working knowledge of contract documents produced by design team
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to meet deadlines based on job schedule
  • Ability to change as more efficient methods developed within the division
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Basic to intermediate skills with Adobe Acrobat and Blue Beam software
  • Full working knowledge of AutoDesk Fabrication and Navis Works
  • Working knowledge of 3D AutoCAD

Preferred Qualifications

  • Intermediate to advance knowledge of AutoDesk Fabrication database management and Revit
  • Hands-on installation experience within commercial, government, institutional, or industrial projects in plumbing and piping
  • MEP Database knowledge and understanding
  • Associate degree in related field or five-year apprenticeship in trade
  • Five or more years’ experience designing plumbing and piping systems
  • Self-starter, self-motivated with ability to take lead in coordinating with other disciplines
  • Capable of working as a team as well as on an individual basis
